Visa Requirements

Do I need a visa to travel to Germany?

Delegates who may need a visa to enter Germany are advised to consult the German Federal Foreign Office website where you can verify your eligibility for visa requirements, find detailed information about visa applications and regulations.

How do I organise my visa?

Delegates who require a visa to enter Germany need to indicate this during the registration process before 18 March 2016 to allow time for visa processing and delivery. Additional information (e.g. passport information) will also need to be provided in order to prepare a formal Invitation Letter required for the visa application process.

Within two days of completing your registration (including providing all required information for obtaining a visa), delegates will receive:

  • A formal Invitation Letter (in German) for visa purposes addressed to the respective German Embassy/Consulate. A copy of this Invitation Letter will also be faxed to the Visa Department of the responsible German Embassy/Consulate and to your Institution/Organisation’s office. Please inform the conference organisers in advance if you require the original invitation letter so that this can be sent to you by regular mail.
  • A visa Application Form.
  • A list of documents that you will need to present to the German Consulate/Embassy in your resident country.
