Gerardo Ruiz Esparza

Secretary of Communications and Transport, Mexico

Prior to joining the cabinet of President Enrique Peña Nieto as Secretary of Communications and Transportation for the Federal Government of Mexico in 2012, Gerardo Ruiz Esparza held various positions in Mexican public administration, including as Secretary of Communications of the State of Mexico from 2005 to 2011. He has coordinated the construction of important information and communications infrastructure projects such as the Toluca International Airport, which was awarded the "Rolim Amaro Prize" as the best Airport in Latin America and the Caribbean and leaded a project to provide broadband connection to the 125 municipalities of the State of Mexico.
